Two Blog Posts

Oops...so I forgot to post the prompt on Monday.  Here was the assignment:

Come up with three potential topics for your Issues Paper.  Express the potential topic briefly along with two specific questions that could guide your research for that topic.

So that's that.  Now, for tonight, you have another blog post due:

Choose one of your potential topics from your previous post and write a tentative thesis for that topic.  You are encouraged to use the thesis template that we discussed in class today.

Happy blogging!

RA Reflection Post

Blog Prompt due TONIGHT at MIDNIGHT:

Write a reflection on the RA process.  This will be a similar post to your previous OpEd Reflection:  What went well/badly during the RA process?  What aspects did you like/dislike?  How did this process compare to the OpEd?  What did you enjoy/not enjoy about the RA assignment in general?  How could the process have gone better?  Etc.

Also, remember your RA itself is due TOMORROW at midnight!

Blog Post Due Tomorrow (Wednesday)

Hey class,

First of all, no blog post due tonight (Tuesday/Monday because we're at BYU and sometimes Tuesdays are Mondays...).

Second of all, you DO have a blog post due TOMORROW night.  You are to compare the peer review process from the OpEd to the peer review process we had for the RA.  Did you think it was more/less useful?  Why or why not?  What worked better, or worse, than the peer review for the OpEd?  Etc.

Writing Prompt for the Weekend

Hey class,

Once more, you have the opportunity to write a blog post on a topic of YOUR CHOICE!  Act now!  Well, act by noon tomorrow.  As in post it by noon tomorrow.  I'll recap:  you have a blog post due by noon tomorrow (Saturday), and you can write on whatever topic you wish.  Have a great weekend!

Yet Another Blog Post

I know, I know, I'm awful at getting these up on time.  So sue me.  (Please don't sue me.)

Your blog post for Wednesday was to (1) list all the elements of figurative language that you could find in the article/blog you are analyzing, and (2) show a concrete example of two of those figures of language.  That's it!

RA Thesis Statement (Blog Prompt)

Hey alls,

Don't forget your blog post due by midnight tonight:  I need a potential RA thesis statement.  That means that you need to choose one of the blogs you proposed in your previous post and go with it.  Do think about the items we discussed in class (reiterated in the handout I sent to you)--including them would be a good idea.  Other than that, have a great weekend and I'll see all of you (together) in a week!

Two Belated Blog Prompts

Hello class,

I recognize I've been awful at posting these prompts in a timely manner.  I'll try to be better at that.  That being said, here are two blog posts you SHOULD have already written by now:

(1) A Reflection post on the OpEd process--how did it go for you?  What went well?  What aspects of the process did you like/enjoy?  What didn't go well?  What could I/you/the program/whoever have done better?  How did this process compare to writing processes you've experienced in the past? Etc.

(2) I need you to provide three potential blog posts that you could analyze for your Rhetorical Analysis.  I need a link and the rhetorical situation (writer, audience, issue) for each of these potential posts-to-be-analyzed.
