Yet Another Blog Prompt

Hey alls,

You have a FREE blog prompt due tomorrow.  What that means is:  you need to post something by noon tomorrow on your blog, but its up to you what you post.  It can be about how much you love the Cranberries (the band, not the fruit), or what your weekend plans are, or why your Writing 150 teacher gives you a severe case of the wiggins (but, of course, you'll be held accountable for whatever you post (-:).  So there you have it--open blog post due tomorrow.

P.S.  There are two punctuational/grammatical errors in this post. One extra credit point for each.  First person/people to point out the mistakes AND a correct version of the mistakes win(s).

Chelsea's Blog Link

Guys,

For whatever reason, the link to chelsea's blog in the sidebar is not working (as you've probably noticed). Instead, please go HERE.  (Don't forget about her blog in the future [re:  comments]!)

Blog Post: Ethos, Pathos, and Logos

Hey alls,

Blog post due TONIGHT at midnight:  Take a look at your OpEd and establish how you are making an appeal to each of the three main components of rhetoric (ethos, pathos, and logos)--tell us the tool you are using and how that is an appeal to the given part of rhetoric.  Hopefully you are doing so already--if not, its time to think about how to make those appeals and use those tools!

Blog Prompt

Hello alls,

I know this is a bit late, but for the sake of consistency I'll still post the prompt here.  (You were all present on Friday so I assume you all understood the prompt anyway.)  Your blog prompt on Friday was to examine the logic of your OpEd:  clarify what the claim(s), reasons, and assumptions were in your piece.  Just a reminder.

Another reminder:  don't forget that your polished draft of your OpEd is due Tuesday at midnight (emailed to me)!

OpEd Conferences

Hello alls,

The following is the schedule for OpEd conferences this coming week.  A few things:

(1) Note the location of each conference day--some are in my office, others in our classroom.

(2) I'll be critiquing the draft you send me tomorrow night UNLESS you would like me to view an updated draft--if that is the case, be sure to bring that updated draft with you to the conference.

(3) If you are not on the list, please be sure to email me and set up a conference time.

(4) If you need to change times or reschedule, please email me beforehand and let me know.

Blog Post: OpEd Thesis

Hey alls,

So I know I'm posting this prompt late, and that most of you have already responded to it in your blogs, but just in case...

Your blog post that was due at NOON today was to have been a potential thesis statement for your Opinion Editorial.

Also, don't forget that the first draft (at least 500 words) of your OpEd is due Monday at midnight.

Another also:  conferences are next week.  I'll post the schedule for them sometime tomorrow.

Hope you're having a great 3-day weekend!

Blog Prompt: OpEd Brainstorm

Hello alls,

By NOON TOMORROW (Saturday) please post a brainstorm for your OpEd topic.  This can be in paragraph form, a bulleted list, or whatever.  Your topic can be, essentially, anything--as long as you have a persuasive point.

Also, remember I'm not requiring comments for this week.  Your blogs should all be up on my blogroll this weekend.  :-)
